Welcome to Term 1

Welcome to the start of a new academic year! We hope you have all had a lovely summer and are ready for the term ahead.

Our classroom doors open at 8:40 and all children are expected to be in class by 8.50 at the latest, ready for their morning work.

Please ensure your child comes to school with their water bottle, reading record and Little Wandle reading book every day. Water bottles, lunch boxes and jumpers/cardigans/coats should be labelled with your child's first and last name.

Reading with your child at home is extremely beneficial for their learning across the curriculum, so we encourage you to do this as much as possible. Please record if your child has read with an adult at home by writing this in their reading record. We are also looking for volunteers to read 1:1 with the children in school - if you would like to volunteer, please contact your child's class teacher.

We would also love to have families come in to share more about their cultural celebrations with the children. If this is something you would be interested in doing, please contact your child's class teacher.

PE days:

Please note that Week 1 is the week beginning 31/08/26 - when there were INSET days, and Week 2 is the week beginning 07/09/26 - when the children start back at school.

Cherry - Tuesdays (weeks 3,5,7) and Wednesdays (weeks 2,4,6,8)

Elm - Mondays (weeks 2,4,5,6,7), Wednesday (week 3), and Tuesday (week 8)

Beech - Mondays (week 2, 3, 5, 6 and 7)  and Thursday (week 4)

Willow - Wednesdays
